There are certain maintenance tasks that you have to do if you want your computer to run as smoothly as the days you brought it home from the shop, and cleaning the Windows Registry is among those tasks. Registry problems could lead to lost performance and annoying crashes. The Registry Smoker application helps you get through this maintenance task with ease. It rapidly scans for and deletes the Registry problems it uncovers.

3.3MB is the size of the Registry Smoker download. It’s quite lightweight, meaning the download will complete rapidly. To install Registry Smoker once the download completes, just launch the executable you downloaded and a setup wizard will guide you from there on. Registry Smoker can be installed on any Windows version from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7.

When you launch Registry Smoker, the application will ask you to choose between using a trial version, buying a full version and activating the application using an existing license key. If you choose the “Free Trial” version, you will be able to test Registry Smoker for an evaluation period of 7 days.

Registry Smoker’s interface is incredibly straightforward. You just have to select the drive you want to scan, select the type of the scan you want to perform (choose between Deep Scan and Safe Scan) and then hit the “Begin Scan” button. Registry Smoker will rapidly detect Registry problems and it will present them to you. It’s then up to you if you want to delete all the detected problems or if you want to delete only some of them.

There is always the threat of something going wrong, especially when you’re working with the Windows Registry. That is why Registry Smoker automatically creates Windows Registry backups when deleting items from the registry. Should anything go wrong, you can restore the backups and make things all better again.

Registry Smoker rapidly finds Registry problems and invites you to delete them. By solving such problems, this easy to use application can make your computer work better.

Pros

Lightweight download, simple installation, easy to use interface. Rapidly scans for Registry problems. There are two scan types: Deep Scan and Safe Scan. Creates backups when deleting Registry items. You can use the backups in case something goes wrong. Registry Smoker works with any Windows version.

Cons

Free to try for a 7 days trial period. No option to schedule Registry scans.
